How UAE fared

UAE placed 19th out of 134 nations — six ranks up from 25th place in 2017. The UAE was also deemed as belonging to the elite group of six countries — US, UK, Brazil, Finland and Singapore — leading progress in new technology such as AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, and biotech.

Economy: UAE placed second, same as last year.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training: UAE jumps from 24th to 14th rank.
