Indian singer Mika Singh was reportedly arrested in Dubai early yesterday on charges of sexually harassing a minor.

According to Indian media, the incident happened in a Bur Dubai hotel after which Mika was arrested. However, his arrest could not be confirmed independently by the police.

A 17-year-old Brazilian model reportedly filed a complaint against Singh for sending her inappropriate pictures.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri told Gulf News that Mika has sought consular access and the embassy staff is working on his case.

Gulf News sought a comment from the singer’s publicist, he declined to comment. Mika was last seen on stage at a Bollywood awards ceremony followed by a performance at a private party in Dubai. Sources claimed that the Brazilian teenager accused Singh of sending her indecent pictures and also promised her a role in a Bollywood movie.

It’s not Mika’s first brush with inappropriate behaviour. In 2006, Bollywood’s controversy magnet Rakhi Sawant alleged that Mika had forcibly kissed her at his birthday party.

In 2016, an FIR was filed against the singer for allegedly molesting a fashion designer at an event.

Another case included the singer slapping a doctor at his concert. Singh has been in several compromising positions in his chequered career.
