Manager who groped cleaner loses appeal

A manager lost his appeal yesterday and will spend three months in jail for groping a cleaner and touching her inappropriately while she tidied his flat.

The Filipina cleaner was tasked by her employer [a housecleaning company] to go to the 46-year-old Egyptian manager’s residence last March. She was ironing clothes when the accused called her into his bedroom to dust it. When she started cleaning up, the accused groped her backside. When she shouted at him, asking why he groped her, the Egyptian claimed that it happened by mistake. (Staff Report)
