Woman cleared of threatening ex-husband
Prosecutors lost their appeal against a ruling that cleared a woman accused of threatening to destroy her former husband’s roastery if he did not return her passport.
The 43-year-old Syrian roastery owner received a call from his 28-year-old countrywoman ex-wife when he was in his shop last March. The woman was reported to have told the man that she would destroy his shop if he did not hand back her passport. In October, the Dubai Court of First Instance acquitted the Syrian woman due to lack of evidence. Prosecutors appealed the judgement. (Staff Report)
