Saudi Arabia and Turkey sign Haj protocol

The head of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate met on Monday with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Haj and Umrah to reach an agreement on services to be provided next year for Turkish pilgrims making their way to Islam’s holiest cities.

Ali Erbas and Mohammad Saleh Bin Taher Benten discussed problems and possible solutions regarding the pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah of an expected 80,000 Turkish pilgrims.

At the end of their deliberations, they signed a “Haj Protocol” to finalise the agreement.
