Victory Team’s championship leader Kevin Reiterer was joined by Team Abu Dhabi’s Emirati rider Rashid Al Mulla at the top of their respective categories in yesterday’s official qualifying at the final round of the 2018 UIMABP Aquabike Class Pro Circuit World Championship.

Reiterer rounded off a perfect day while topping the timesheets in the Ski GP1 category, while the Team Abu Dhabi rider got his bid to clinch the Freestyle category crown by winning his qualifying heat.

Al Mulla, the 31-year-old Emirati pilot, delivered another polished acrobatic display of spins, flips, barrel-rolls, fountains, somersaults and combinations to earn a score of 90 points for style and quantity to claim early bragging rights.

Reiterer has an impressive record on the Khalid Lagoon after winning the GP title twice before. But he suffered a rare breakdown last year. “It’s all down to the final few motos of the season and it is all in our hands from now on,” Reiterer told Gulf News.

“We have done a lot of hard work during the pre-season. But ultimately we will have to deliver on the water,” he added.
