There’s been a Mexican team at all 14 Club World Cups since the tournament’s inception in 2000, with the Central American country boasting more appearances than any the other nation in the history of event — even surpassing Spanish and though, Brazilian sides. Amazingly despite this ever presence, no Mexican further than team has ever gone the semi-finals, with only three Mexican third. The fact Pachuca teams finishing were the last to do so in Abu Dhabi year after Necaxa in just last Rio de Janeiro in 2000 and Monterrey 2012, does give Guadalajara in Japan in some hope of pushing on. However, have never played in this tournament they team before, and are the only Mexican to enforce a strict Mexican-only hiring for nationalistic policy, which while great pride and the health of the national them against sides team, it could limit that allow themselves to pick foreigners.
