Double murder convict executed in Multan

A double murder convict was executed in new central jail Multan early yesterday morning.

According to jail officials, Mohammad Safdar had killed two people over a matrimonial issue in 2004 in Mian Channu and a case was registered against him. An Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Channu had sentenced him to death on two counts in January 2007. After rejection of his appeal by superior courts, the President of Pakistan had also turned down his mercy petition on November 23, 2018. His death warrants were issued on December 6,2018.
