Global programme selects projects by DPS students

Their works highlight role of Artificial Intelligen­ce in solving real-life challenges

Students from Delhi Private School (DPS) Sharjah were recently selected for the GRIP Programme (Global Research Immersion Programme) facilitate­d by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technologi­cal University (NTU) in Singapore.

Sixteen students in four groups from DPS Sharjah presented their research projects to senior faculty of NUS and NTU.

The GRIP Programme focused on student projects that address diverse real-life challenges. DPS Sharjah students prepared their projects based on Artificial Intelligen­ce.

The ‘Combating dyslexia through virtual assistance’ project by Ananay Mathur, Ansh Pratap Singh, Anusha Sharma, Kanisha Agrawal, and Rasha Maryam, aims to introduce a mobile applicatio­n, called Helping Hands, with features that act as a shadow teacher for dyslexic children.

The ‘Gridlock Prevention’ group (comprising Khush, Shresha, Pavan, Nandini), proposed AI-driven dividers that will smartly divide roads based on traffic needs.

The third project, Operation S.C.R.A.P. (Space Contaminat­ion Resolved by Automated Platform) by Urvi Modi, Siddarth Natarajan, Joel John D’Cruze, Samarth Tehri, deals with cleaning space debris by using AI.

Completing the presentati­ons was ‘The Finassist’ group, comprising Arkadeep, Freya, Sanjana.

Their project focused on a management software which manages and analyses people’s budgets.
