Bihar: Opposition lost where Rahul spoke

■ win only one, whereas its ally, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) failed to even open its account despite contesting 19 seats. Their other three allies, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) headed by former federal minister Upendra Kushwaha, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) led by former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) too failed to register their presence despite fighting the elections under the alliance.

The same thing had happened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2015 state elections in Bihar when his NDA had failed to win on most of the seats where he had addressed rallies. Modi had addressed a total of 31 election rallies at that time — almost holding one rally in each of the 38 districts of Bihar.
