On this day in 1990, Freddie Mercury made his final stage appearance, joining Queen to accept the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. Many were surprised by Mercury’s gaunt appearance. Though Brian May did the majority of the talking, Mercury stepped up to the stage to say: “Thank you. Good night.”
