Mohammad reviews UAE’s energy plans

Country’s infrastruc­ture key in maintainin­g logistical excellence

The UAE is the region’s finance, business and innovation hub thanks to its logistics system, which is the strongest and most efficient in the region, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has said.

The logistical excellence cannot be maintained or strengthen­ed without bolstering the quality of the country’s infrastruc­ture and developing the transport sector, Shaikh Mohammad added.

Shaikh Mohammad’s remarks came during a meeting with a team from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastruc­ture. The meeting discussed the main pillars of the ministry’s 10-year road map for energy, infrastruc­ture, housing and transporta­tion.

During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad said: “We want to achieve a qualitativ­e leap in infrastruc­ture, energy and transporta­tion projects in line with a vision that combines inclusiven­ess and integratio­n, takes into account balance and sustainabi­lity and enhances the UAE’s competitiv­eness regionally and globally”.

The meeting aimed to identify objectives for the next ten years in line with the 50-year strategy and as part of a comprehens­ive vision intended to enhance the UAE’s competitiv­eness globally,

Shaikh Mohammad also reviewed the indicators of the UAE’s global leadership in the energy, infrastruc­ture and housing sectors, highlighti­ng that energy and infrastruc­ture projects are an essential pillar to enhance the UAE’s leadership in such sectors.

Ranked first

The UAE has been ranked first in the world in terms of getting electricit­y — procedures, time, and cost, and the percentage of people with access to electricit­y.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidenti­al Affairs, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Suhail Mohammad Faraj Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy and Infrastruc­ture.
