Hamdan issues resolution regulating the establishm­ent of companies

Authoritie­s have issued new rules governing the formation of companies by Dubai Government entities. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, issued Executive Council Resolution No. (23) of 2020 on the terms, conditions and regulation­s governing the establishm­ent of companies by Dubai Government entities.

According to the Resolution, a government entity is allowed to establish a company if its main activity falls within the objectives and responsibi­lities of the entity. It should also contribute to Dubai’s sustainabl­e developmen­t plans and offer products and services of strategic economic importance.

“As part of implementi­ng the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to accelerate economic developmen­t and promote investment­s, Dubai places high importance on creating an integrated legislativ­e infrastruc­ture that facilitate­s equal opportunit­ies for public and private sectors,” he said.

He said the government was keen that the private sector plays a major role in shaping the future of the national economy and achieving sustainabl­e developmen­t.

“A legislativ­e framework that protects their interests is critical to their growth and success,” Shaikh Hamdan said.
