UAE, India look to boost electronic­s and IT trade

80 people attend online meeting to develop synergies

The UAE and India are making efforts to scale their economic and trade links to new heights, a virtual B2B meeting was told yesterday.

With a view to augmenting India’s Electronic­s and IT trade with UAE, the Electronic­s and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) with the support of Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, organised the B2B meet between Indian and UAE industry yesterday.

Around 80 participan­ts from both sides interacted with each other for creating synergies for growth.

“We are sure that this initiative will lead to further the ICT trade between both the countries,” said Kamal Vachani, Regional Director, ESC, Dubai.

IT sector

India now exports $155 billion worth of IT goods and services. “IT could play a very important role in furthering the trade between the two countries,” said Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, ESC.

Sandeep Kumar Bayyapu, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, said the initiative of organising the virtual B2B meet will create more strategic partnershi­ps between the two countries.

Vachani invited Indian IT industry to explore GITEX Dubai which will further business between India and the countries in Middle East and UAE in particular.
