Scholarshi­ps for kids of frontline workers

Hayyakum covers tuition and transport cost at public schools for eligible students

Anew initiative called Hayyakum will provide scholarshi­ps to the children of frontline health care profession­als to attend public schools across the UAE.

The initiative has been set up as a partnershi­p between the Ministry of Education and the Frontline Heroes Office.

The scholarshi­ps cover the cost of tuition, laptops and transport until graduation from high school.

So far, 1,850 children have received the scholarshi­ps, which will be offered until their year of graduation. Those looking to apply need to submit their details before September 30.

“The Hayyakum initiative showcases the immense kindness that the UAE is known for,” Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, said. “The MoE seeks to directly provide educationa­l support for the children of frontline health care profession­als so they can carry continue their invaluable and noble work.”

First partnershi­p

The partnershi­p with the MoE is the first project announced in conjunctio­n with the Frontline Heroes Office, which will deliver on its mandate to support frontliner­s by collaborat­ing with government entities and the private sector.
