- ABUDHABI BY SAMIHAH ZAMAN Staff Reporter

AbuDhabi has included Qatar and Oman in the updated list of ‘ green’ countries, regions and territories to include 17 different places. After returning from these places, travellers need not quarantine for 10 days.

Travellers from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait were earlier given exemption from quarantine.

On December 24, Abu Dhabi announced international travellers — both residents and tourists — who arrive from ‘ green’ countries will be exempted from quarantine.

Negative test required

However, they are required to present a negative PCR test result received within 96 hours of their scheduled departure and take a second PCR test upon entering the emirate.

As announced by visitabudhabi, the Abu Dhabi Government’s tourism page, the updated list of ‘ green’ countries now includes Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, China, Brunei, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Macao, Mauritius, Mongolia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Sao Tome and Principe, St Kitts and Nevis, Taipei and Thailand.

“Any visitors travelling from countries, regions and territories on the ‘ green’ list will be exempt from quarantine requirements and can enter the destination by following a series of procedures that include Covid- 19 tests,” visitabudhabi said.

Eight more private facilities providing vaccinations

Meanwhile, eight more private facilities in Abu Dhabi are providing vaccinations.

In a post on social media, the Abu Dhabi Media Office announced that there are now 105 locations where residents can get the vaccine.

The additional centres include five facilities in Abu Dhabi city: Capital Health Screening Centre — Al Jazira Sports Club branch, Healthpoint Hospital, Imperial College London Diabetes Centre — Al Khaleej

Al Arabi branch, Imperial College London Diabetes Centre at Zayed Sports City, and Amana Healthcare Rehabilitation Centre, Healthpoint.

Three more facilities in Al Ain are also providing the vaccine.

Health ministry slams rumours involving vaccines

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Prevention yesterday quashed rumours about Covid- 19 vaccines being circulated on socialmedia platforms.

In a statement, the ministry underlined the importance of obtaining information from official and reliable sources, and called upon community members to verify the information before circulation.

The ministry stressed that all those propagating fake information will be held legally accountable.
