Gulf News campaign ends with over 300 employees vaccinated
TAMOUH HEALTHCARE’S SUBSIDARY PROVIDES TWO DOSES OF SINOPHARM
More than 300 Gulf News employees received their second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine on Sunday, concluding the vaccination campaign launched by the newspaper in association with Tamouh Healthcare through its subsidiary MediQ.
Abdul Hamid Ahmad, CEO, Editor-in-Chief and Executive Director Publications, Gulf News, said: “I am happy that we finished the two doses for all our employees including our newsboys. Joining hands with the government to vaccinate staff and residents is an important duty to help reduce cases so that we can all go back to our normal lives.
“I would like to send a message to our readers in all the emirates and assure them that their trusted newspaper always looks into their safety by taking care of its employees’ safety.
“I would like to thank Dr Partha Bannerjee and Dr Sanjay Ghosh for helping Gulf News get this mission done through their support and quality service.”
It’s a great step’
Dr Bannerjee, CEO, Tamouh Healthcare, thanked the senior management of Gulf News for thinking about the welfare of its staff. “It is a great step, especially vaccinating the delivery and distribution staff, the reporters and all the staff in general,” he said.
Dr Ghosh, head of operations, said: “I thank the UAE Government and Tamouh Healthcare for giving me the opportunity to be part of this social service.”
K.C. Nissar, Director — HR, Gulf News, said: “More companies must organise vaccinations for their staff members. A step like this can go a long way in decreasing the effects of the pandemic.”
Faisal Konopulakkal, distribution supervisor at Gulf News, said: “As someone working in the distribution field, I meet people everyday. I feel safer now after my second dose.”

Dr Bannerjee had a message for the community: “Vaccination does not mean you are completely safe. It just means your body is prepared to take the virus and fight it. One has to still takes precautions. This means, wear your mask all the time, don’t gather in large groups. Sanitise your hands as often as possible and wash them with soap and water as often as possible,” he said.
