Dubai Health Authority expands the list of targeted categories for the first dose of coronavirus vaccine programme
In an announcement made last week, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) expanded the categories targeted within the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the emirate.
According to the decision, which was announced on March 2, people will be able to book an appointment for the Covid-19 vaccine at a DHA centre, if they are Emirati nationals, Dubai residence visa holders within the ‘People of determination’ category, all Dubai residence visa holders above the age of 40 and Dubai residence visa holders who suffer from chronic diseases.
Additionally, elderly residents who are 60 years and above and live in Dubai will also be able to book.
According to the announcement, elderly residents aged 60 and above with a valid visa issued in any Emirate can register for an appointment, provided they can prove that they are residing in Dubai.
Also, GCC country nationals who carry an Emirates ID can also book an appointment for the vaccine.
The appointments for frontline workers and vital sector workers are scheduled in coordination between the DHA and their workplace.
Vaccination services are available on an appointment basis only.
Age groups
DHA also revised the minimum age for receiving the vaccine in Dubai, with 16-year-olds eligible to get the Pfizer-BioNtech and Sinopharm vaccines, while to
receive Oxford-AstraZeneca, you need to be at least 18 years old.
