GRADE 10 STUDENTS GIVEN TWO OPTIONS
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced yesterday that board exams for grade 10 Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and grade 12 Indian School Certificate (ISC) have been deferred. New dates will be announced in the first week of June.
India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled grade 10 exams and postponed grade 12 exams on Wednesday.
The CISCE has given grade 10 students two options. While the ISC [grade 12) exam will be conducted at a later date, ICSE [grade 10] students have the option to write the offline exam along with grade 12 candidates or not to appear for it,” it said.
CISCE will develop “a fair and unbiased criterion” for students who decide not to appear for the offline exam.
