Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank donates Dh1m to campaign

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) yesterday donated Dh1 million to the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, which continues to get donations from companies and individual­s inside and outside the UAE. Every Dh1 donated provides one meal to beneficiar­ies in 30 countries.

Hassan Abdullah Al Shamsi, area manager at ADIB Abu Dhabi Central Area and Estidama Council member, said: “We are pleased at ADIB to be part of the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, and to help families in need. This initiative is in line with ADIB’s commitment to support the wise vision of the UAE Government as well as its commitment to enhance and develop its social responsibi­lity towards various communitie­s.”

Huda Beauty pledges Dh1m

Huda Beauty, a Dubaibased beauty and cosmetics company, also pledged Dh1 million to the campaign. Huda Kattan, founder and chairwoman, said: “This past year has seen so much struggle around the world, so we’re honoured to take part in this humbling humanitari­an aid initiative during the blessed month of Ramadan.”

Urging the public to donate, Kattan said, “Together, we can make a difference.”

The campaign launched on April 11 has exceeded expectatio­ns, meeting over 78 per cent of its target this week.
