Guards sell Dh1.1m of stolen material

-

Two security guards at a Dubai company stole material and tools worth Dh1.1 million from a construction site, sold them to different buyers and escaped, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard.

The company discovered the theft 10 days later, but the 26-year-old Nepali and 37-year-old Indian guards remain at large. A company official said that a supervisor contacted one of them via WhatsApp and he admitted to the theft. “He even provided the plate number of the buyer’s vehicle and we passed it on to police,” he added.

Dubai Police arrested the buyer who admitted to buying the material from them.
