Jordan eases curfew for Friday prayers
Jordan will relax a total curfew imposed on Fridays to allow people to perform the congregational prayer in mosques. Citizens are allowed one hour to perform the prayer in accordance with protocols.
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Sanctities Mohammed Al Khalayleh said yesterday that the curfew will be lifted from 12.20pm until 1.20pm. He urged worshippers to use personal prayer rugs, wear masks and maintain social distancing.
Jordan has seen a spike in infections, prompting authorities to extend a night curfew until mid-May. A full curfew is enforced on Fridays.
