Bahrain has removed India, Pakistan, Panama and the Dominican Republic from its travel ‘red list’. Passengers from red list countries, including those who have transited through them in the preceding 14 days, are denied entry into Bahrain, except for citizens and foreign residents.

Bahrain added five more countries to the list namely Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Ecuador, starting from tomorrow, BNA reported.

PCR tests, done before arrival in Bahrain, are no longer required for those entering the kingdom from non-red list countries whose vaccination certificates are recognised. However, all passengers arriving in Bahrain will continue to undergo PCR tests on arrival and on the 5th and 10th days of their stay.

Countries on the red list include Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Georgia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique and Malawi.

Entry to hypermarkets, restaurants in Oman only for vaccinated people

Meanwhile, starting yesterday, only vaccinated people can enter hypermarkets, commercial establishments, coffee shops and restaurants across Oman. Visitors have to show proof of vaccination.

The Tarassud+ app, which records the vaccination report, should be shown. Screenshots clearly showing the QR code are also accepted. Malls will implement the rule of entry for vaccinated people from September 15.

Oman opened its international borders for normal operations yesterday after nearly four months.

Subject to the condition of undergoing a seven-day institutional quarantine, even non-vaccinated expat residents can return to Oman.

Expat residents who have taken one dose in Oman can also return. They must take PCR before entering Oman, another on arrival and must wear a tracking bracelet.
