Mother accused of killing crying toddler

Egyptian police arrested a woman for fatally stabbing her toddler for crying a lot. The two-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital where she died.

After her arrest, the woman, a housewife, initially denied she had killed the child, claiming the girl had sustained serious injuries after falling down the stairs. However, police investigations showed she was behind the murder. The woman later admitted to the crime.

In July, a woman having an extramarital affair poisoned her husband and their three children in south Egypt. The children, aged six to nine, died after drinking poisoned juice.
