September is ‘patient safety month’ in Oman

Oman’s Ministry of Health has declared September as national month for patient safety, with several programmes planned for health workers and community.

Dr Qamra Bint Saeed, Director General of the Quality Assurance Centre at the Ministry of Health, said Oman will be participating in World Patient Safety Day on September 17. Oman started to implement the Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative at the end of 2015. It was developed to ensure quality medical services for patients. Several private hospitals and government hospitals implemented the initiative, which was evaluated by the World Health Organisation and Oman’s Ministry of Health.
