Saudi Arabia yesterday removed the UAE, Argentina and South Africa from its entry banned country list and allowed citizens to travel to the three countries starting today, state media reported.

An official source in the Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that it was decided to remove the UAE, South Africa and Argentina from the entry banned country list as of 11am today through the country’s land, sea and air ports, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

On July 3, the kingdom suspended passenger flights to and from several countries, including the UAE, due to Covid-19 variant concerns.

Citizens will also be allowed to travel to the three countries, the source said, stressing the importance of adhering to all Covid-19 precautionary measures.

SPA quoted the source as saying that all procedures and measures are subject to continuous evaluation by Saudi health authorities in line with global Covid-19 developments.

Kuwait-India flights start

Meanwhile, direct commercial flights between Kuwait and India resumed yesterday after the Kuwaiti government last month lifted a ban on flights from six countries.

Five Kuwaiti and Indian airlines are allowed to operate direct flights, Al Anba newspaper reported. Six direct flights from India were scheduled to land in Kuwait yesterday.

Kuwaiti and Indian airlines opened ticket bookings and flights will cover several Indian destinations, including Delhi, Kochi and Mumbai, Al Qabas newspaper said.

Since August 1, vaccinated expats have been allowed to enter Kuwait after a sevenmonth ban.
