Route 2020 resolves major commuting issues
Dubai residents are delighted with Dubai Metro’s Expo 2020 route opening that helps them save travel time and money

The opening of route Expo 2020 has helped me in commuting to work. Before, I would take the bus, but the bus would be packed due to rush hour and Covid distancing rules, and I would have to wait at least 40-60 minutes to reach work. However, since the route Expo 2020 opened after June, I now reach work within 20 minutes from Ibn Battuta Station. As a working mom, this has helped me spend more time with my toddler.

Since I had started my internship at a
PR agency, I encountered issues for commuting from Dubai Investment Park to the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa metro line. The travel was hectic and time-consuming, and my fuel expenditure was rising. Being a student, I use a student Nol card. Now, Route 2020 saves me a lot of money. And what’s amazing is that this metro line is not packed even during peak hours.

I work in Business Bay and live in Deira, so using Dubai Metro is a big part of my daily commute. I have been taking the metro since 2018. When the new route [Expo 2020 Line] opened to the public, I was so grateful, especially as I travel to Discovery Gardens at least two times a week due to work. It will no longer take a bus or taxi to get there, as a metro ride saves me travel time and money.

As an Expo 2020 Volunteer, I was encouraged to try the brand new Expo 2020 Metro Route. The route was convenient and fresh. Upon arrival at the Expo 2020 Metro station, it felt like I was stepping into the future. The newly lit architecture and metro access terminals felt like something out of a sci-fi movie. It indeed was a wonderfully smooth experience, and I can’t wait for the world to experience this.
