‘Management of pandemic is most successful model’

NCEMA spokespers­on highlights UAE’s readiness to address extraordin­ary situation

Dr Saif Al Daheri, Spokespers­on of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA), said the UAE’s management of the Covid-19 pandemic is characteri­sed by profession­alism and is one of the most successful internatio­nal models of crisis management, highlighti­ng its regional and global humanitari­an initiative­s.

During the UAE Government media briefing on the latest Covid-19 pandemic developmen­ts, Al Daheri noted the UAE’s flexibilit­y and readiness to address any extraordin­ary conditions, due to its proactive approach to challenges and its decisions, plans and strategies aimed at containing the repercussi­ons.

He also praised the role of the national media, which addressed the crisis with complete transparen­cy. “According to Bloomberg’s Covid Resilience Ranking, the UAE leads the region’s countries and is ranked 15th globally, advancing three places compared to last July,” he stated, adding that according to Our World in Data (OWID), a scientific online publicatio­n, the UAE leads the world in the number of fully vaccinated people and in terms of vaccine distributi­on for every 100 persons.
