Imam in Egypt rapes 10-year-old girl

A 39-year-old Egyptian Imam of a Mosque has been arrested for raping a minor girl after attending a Quran memorisation lesson at his home, local media reported.

The case came to light when the 10-year-old victim refused to go to the Quran memorisation lesson, which aroused her mother’s suspicions. The child said in the last lesson and after all students left, the Imam sexually assaulted her. The mother reported the incident to Dakahlia police, following which the Imam was arrested and referred to the public prosecution.
