Qatar-based Indian journalist passes away

Qatar-based Indian journalist P.A. Mubarak,

66, died of COVID-19 related complications in Doha on Friday. The Doha correspondent of Chandrika newspaper had been undergoing treatment at the Hamad Hospital for the past two months.

A former employee of the commerce ministry in Qatar, Mubarak had been very active on the expatriate social and cultural scene in Doha. He also played a pivotal role in the activities of the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre in Qatar. He was involved in several charitable projects, notably when Kerala suffered from the fury of floods.
