Iraqi acquitted after ‘killed’ wife found alive
An Iraqi man who was sentenced to death for killing his wife by setting her on fire and dumping her body into a river was acquitted after the woman was found ‘alive’.
It all began when the man went to the police to report that his wife was missing. He was interrogated forced to admit that he killed his wife, but police failed to find her body. The Babylon police allegedly also published a video of the man reenacting jis ‘crime’ in the presence of the provincial police chief and a large media delegation.
Aftre the video went viral on social media, several citizens contacted police and informed them about the whereabouts of the woman, which prompted the security forces to go to the place and arrest her.
