Iraqi shoots dead woman over food

A 36-year-old Iraqi man was arrested for shooting dead a woman following a dispute over food in Al Diwaniyah, the capital city of Iraq’s Al Qadisiyyah governorate. According to Al Diwaniyah Police, a police force from the Anti-Crime department, in partnership with the Salhia Police Station, arrested the man less than two hours of the crime.

The 36-year-old detainee confessed to killing the woman following a dispute over the food of Imam Hussein pilgrims.

He is reported to have used a machine gun and shot the victim in the head inside her house killing her on the spot. Two more people from the victim’s family were injured.
