Egypt: Newly wed bride brutally beats husband
An Egyptian man was brutally beaten by his wife, causing him a permanent disability just 67 days after their wedding. The husband has sought 500,000 Egyptian pounds in compensation.
“My mother-in-law created problems between us,” the man said told a Giza court. “She pushed my wife to the brink of madness trying to control my life, and insult my dignity, but when I refused and confronted her, she beat me with a piece of iron.
“I was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, and had a permanent disability that will stay with me for the rest of my life. This led to a war between the two families with them filing lawsuits as well to push me to drop the case.”
The court decision pending further investigation.
