Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Traffic Department and a senior member of the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disasters Management in Dubai, said, 99 per cent of the people in Dubai were aware of the instructio­ns and they followed all the precaution­ary measures to curb Covid-19.

The expertise of the police personnel in surveillan­ce and investigat­ion and their familiarit­y with the area helped control the situation in Naif area, which was put under a strict 27-day containmen­t.

The Civil Defence team was also ready for its usual duty and other civil rescue missions. According to official statistics, firefighte­rs extinguish­ed 89 fires in buildings, as well as 53 car fires and conducted 76 rescue missions during this period of the pandemic. The operation was conducted following highest internatio­nal standards, as 75,000 litres of sterilisat­ion fluid were used every day.
