UP offers youth new food science courses

The Uttar Pradesh government proposes to impart culinary skills to youth in the state and has launched diploma courses to this end.

The state government seeks to help the youth in preparing food items, including bakery and confectionery skills, but also in preserving them to fetch better prices.

According to a government spokesman, the Food Processing Department has established Government Food Science Training Centres in 10 districts at the divisional level. The centres have opened in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Bareilly, Moradabad and Meerut.
