Bhansali on how his debut series was born

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, whose magnum opus Heeramandi is soon to be released, said: “Heeramandi was something my friend Moin Baig got to me as a 14-page story, 14 years ago. When we presented it to Netflix, they loved it and thought it had potential to make a mega-series. it’s big and tells you the story of courtesans.”
