QATAR MAPS FUTURE

With streamlined white walls along with the map of the world in one room and a futuristic display of everything Qatar has to offer in another, the country’s pavilion opened its doors to visitors yesterday.

The Qatar Pavilion, located in the Opportunity District showcases its theme to visitors focusing on innovation and the future right from its façade.

Dancers performing traditional dances at the gate of the pavilion welcomed visitors from around the world.

The pavilion’s architecture is inspired by the Coat of Arms of Qatar. This includes a dhow, palm trees, swords and water.

Each element is highlighted within the structure by Micael Calatrava, chief executive officer of the pavilion and Santiago Calatrava, creative director.
