AMumbai court yesterday sent Aryan Khan and seven other accused to judicial custody for 14 days in the cruise ship drug raid case, while rejecting the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) plea for custody until October 11.

Judicial custody implies that an accused is lodged in jail under the custody of a magistrate, not the investigating agency.

The court will today decide on an interim bail application moved by Aryan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde.

“Aryan Khan was invited for the cruise party. However, he did not have a boarding pass. He didn’t have any seat or cabin there. Secondly, according to the seizure, nothing has been found in his possession. He is arrested only based on chats,” Maneshinde said.

The court said that the case will now be heard by a special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances court.

Hrithik extends support

Meanwhile, actor Hrithik Roshan yesterday extended his support to the 23-year-old.

Taking to Instagram, Hrithik penned a lengthy post asking Aryan to be strong as he feels “God gives toughest ones the toughest balls to play”.

An NCB team busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship, which was on its way to Goa on October 2 night, and arrested 18 people, including Aryan and his friend Arbaz Seth Merchant.

The NCB seized 13gm of cocaine, five gm of MD, 21 gm of charas, and 22 pills of Ecstacy.
