UAE eyes leadership in global digital space

Adopting innovative technology solutions to unlock the potential of every sphere of development and enhance the wellbeing of society is one of the nation’s highest priorities, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresident and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said yesterday.
Shaikh Mohammad’s comments followed a tour of the 41st edition of Gitex Global x Ai Everything at the Dubai World Trade Centre, which features more than 3,500 exhibitors from over 140 countries.
“Over the next 50 years, the UAE seeks to advance its leadership and progress in the global digital landscape,” Shaikh Mohammad said.
“We also are keen to forge new partnerships with global companies to accelerate our growth in this sector. We have a clear vision for the future, and we are steadfast in our efforts to achieve our aspirations. Our progress will be driven by our country’s talent and global collaborations that will bring the world’s best expertise to the UAE,” he added.
Shaikh Mohammad toured a number of pavilions at Gitex Global where he was briefed about cutting-edge technology solutions and digital products displayed at the global event.
Shaikh Mohammad, who was accompanied by Shaikh Mansoor Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was briefed by Helal Saeed Al Merri, director-general of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.
Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, yesterday toured Gitex Global. Shaikh Ahmad said Gitex has steadily grown over the years to become one of the world’s most important technology events and a major trade show that showcases innovations that can shape our future. The event offers an opportunity for the technology community to network in person, share expertise and explore productive partnerships.
