Bangla need to win big, or fate in Scotland’s hands

- By A.K.S. Satish | Assistant Editor

Bangladesh’s shock loss against Scotland has made the final set of matches interesting in the Group B of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup qualifiers in Muscat, Oman.

Bangladesh have to target a big win against Papua New Guinea, after which the suspense will start when Oman take on Scotland at 6pm today. A big margin should put the Tigers in a slightly comfortable position even if Oman manage to beat Scotland. The difference in net run rate is pretty narrow, and will be the determining factor to break the deadlock should teams be level on points.

So it boils down to the fact that Bangladesh need to win handsomely otherwise their fate is in Scotland’s hands.
