Stung by the reversal in the opener against Scotland, the Tigers brought out their best in the next two games to tell the world that they are not a spent force yet. Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and skipper Mahmudullah stood up to be counted and led the revival of Bangladesh in the qualifiers.

Having successfully completed the task of entering the Super 12 stage, Bangladesh need to continue in the same vein and cannot afford to drop the guard. After defeating PNG, Mahmudullah said it is important for the team to get a good start, hence it is imperative that the openers will play a crucial role in Sharjah where they meet Sri Lanka tomorrow.
