Flying taxis to be used for transport in Neom
Saudi Arabia has announced that flying taxis would be used for transportation in Neom. According to the CEO of Neom City Project Nadhmi Al Nasr, work is underway to develop the eco-friendly system based on aviation.
Speaking during the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, which is being held in Sharm Al Shaikh, Al Nasr stressed that Neom has already used 15 helicopters. He added that Neom will provide renewable water sources for commercial and industrial consumption.
Clean energy push
Neom has witnessed the establishment of the first centre to develop clean energy and green hydrogen, Al Nasr said. The centre focuses on innovation and research to protect natural reserves and environment.
Al Nasr also said that there is an industrial city in Neom to accelerate the transfer of solutions and technology, adding that work is underway to advance the infrastructure of The Line city, to accommodate 100 million people living in 5 per cent of its land area. The population density in The Line is equivalent to the population of New York and London.
