Flying taxis to be used for transport in Neom

Saudi Arabia has announced that flying taxis would be used for transporta­tion in Neom. According to the CEO of Neom City Project Nadhmi Al Nasr, work is underway to develop the eco-friendly system based on aviation.

Speaking during the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, which is being held in Sharm Al Shaikh, Al Nasr stressed that Neom has already used 15 helicopter­s. He added that Neom will provide renewable water sources for commercial and industrial consumptio­n.

Clean energy push

Neom has witnessed the establishm­ent of the first centre to develop clean energy and green hydrogen, Al Nasr said. The centre focuses on innovation and research to protect natural reserves and environmen­t.

Al Nasr also said that there is an industrial city in Neom to accelerate the transfer of solutions and technology, adding that work is underway to advance the infrastruc­ture of The Line city, to accommodat­e 100 million people living in 5 per cent of its land area. The population density in The Line is equivalent to the population of New York and London.
