Childless couple organise their pet dogs’ marriage
100 invitations sent out to neighbours
In a bizarre wedding ceremony, two dogs were ‘married’ by their owners in Gurugram’s Palam Vihar extension yesterday.
The owners made all the arrangements for the unconventional marriage after arranging a match between their pet dogs.
Sheru and Sweety took their pheras at around 8.30pm. According to the pet owners, 100 invitation cards were sent to the neighbourhood of Jile Singh Colony
in Palam Vihar Extension. Rani, the woman who raised Sweety, the demale dog, said: “I did not have children so my husband brought Sweety from a local temple three years ago and since then I have raised her like my child. “With this wedding, we now have the opportunity to perform a kanyadaan like a Hindu ritual.” Sheru, the eight-yearold dog, was adopted by the couple after picking him up from the streets.
