Louvre Abu Dhabi lines up fifth anniversar­y festivitie­s

Celebratio­ns include new artworks and community events

Louvre Abu Dhabi will celebrate its fifth anniversar­y this month with the theme ‘The Grand Story Continues’, and a spectacula­r line-up of artworks, cultural events, educationa­l activities and entertainm­ent.

The monthlong celebratio­n features new displays, including a Leonardo da Vinci masterpiec­e, plus workshops and curatorial talks. There will also be concerts by John Legend, Majid Al Muhandis and Omar Khairat. Other fun, familyfrie­ndly activities include electric catamaran rides.

Louvre Abu Dhabi first opened its doors on November 11, 2017. and has welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors from around the world since.

It has partnered with over 30 regional, French and internatio­nal museums and institutio­ns and organised 16 exhibition. It also opened the region’s first-of-its-kind research laboratory.

Education programmes have included school and university guided tours, workshops and programmes engaging over 120,000 students.
