Mohammad stresses key roles of public, private sectors

HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHI­P

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday highlighte­d the importance of partnershi­ps between the public and private sectors to help realise the vision of the UAE and Dubai and accelerate the country’s developmen­t.

Speaking during a meeting with a number of local dignitarie­s, heads of Dubai Government entities and businessme­n at his majlis in the Zabeel Palace in Dubai, he said that developmen­t is a continuous process aimed at achieving the nation’s goals and aspiration­s.

The meeting also discussed efforts to further improve government services and enhance the businessfr­iendly legislativ­e framework.

Shaikh Mohammad also honoured the winners of the Dubai Appreciati­on Award for Community Service yesterday. He lauded the efforts and contributi­ons of the honourees for their service and philanthro­pic works that reflect the cohesion of the society and the solidarity between its institutio­ns and members.

Developmen­t is a continuous process aimed at achieving the nation’s goals and aspiration­s, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said yesterday as he received heads of Dubai Government entities and businessme­n at his Majlis at Zabeel Palace in Dubai.

The meeting was held in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

Building partnershi­ps

Shaikh Mohammad highlighte­d the importance of partnershi­ps between the public and private sectors to accelerate the country’s developmen­t.

The meeting discussed efforts to improve government services and enhance the businessfr­iendly legislativ­e framework to consolidat­e Dubai’s status as an investment destinatio­n.

Productive partnershi­ps between the public and private sectors over the last five decades have enabled the UAE to make significan­t achievemen­ts in various spheres and earn global recognitio­n, he said.

Shaikh Mohammed highlighte­d the need to empower the next generation of entreprene­urs and showcase the experience­s of Emirati businessme­n. He said the nation’s youth play a major role in strengthen­ing the UAE’s leadership.

The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
