8 die after car falls into gorge

Eight people were killed in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district yesterday, officials said.

Officials said that the driver of the Tata Sumo taxi lost control of his car in Marwah area of Kishtwar; it fell into a gorge. “Eight people travelling in the vehicle died on the spot,” an official said.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister |of State, in a tweet, said: “All possible assistance being provided ... My sincere condolences to [the] bereaved families.”
