Led by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, more than 193,000 people turned Dubai’s iconic Shaikh Zayed Road into a giant running track and set a new record for Dubai Run, the world’s largest free fun run, yesterday.

The fourth edition of Dubai Run, the flagship event of the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge launched by Shaikh Hamdan, witnessed 47,000 more people than its 2021 edition which saw a total of 146,000 runners taking part.

Incredible excitement and determination were on display as fitness enthusiasts of all ages, skills, and abilities followed Shaikh Hamdan in the 2022 edition.

Shaikh Hamdan said: “By turning out in such huge numbers for Dubai Run, we have shown the world that this is one of the greatest cities for living, working and visiting; a city with an unassailable spirit and ability to achieve. I’m immensely proud of each and every individual, government entity, business and organisation that took part today, and in the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

“Thank you all. Let’s make it more than 200,000 next year Dubai,” he added.
