Jon Rahm shot a final round of 67 for a 72 hole total of 20 under par to win the $10 million DP World Tour Championship, Dubai played over the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Incredibly his third win in four starts in the event.

The 28 year-old Spaniard, becomes the first three-time winner of the DP World Tour Championship. After flying out of the blocks from the first hole with three opening birdies, after having taken a one stroke lead into the final round.

Rahm carded six birdies, and just one bogey on hole four in his final round.

He held a two-shot lead as he stood on the 18th tee, but an errant tee-shot landed him in tree trouble and he only just cleared the penalty area with his second shot.

The gamble paid off as he two-putted for par on the 18th green to take the top prize.

Tied runners-up two shots back on 18 under par were Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren who shot 66 and 67 respectively with Noren the only player in the 50 strong field to beat 70 in all four rounds.

World No 1 Rory McIlroy finished with a 68 for solo fourth place, enough to win the DP World Tour Rankings for his fourth time.
