Dubai Police honour expat for his courage in foiling robbery

Indian expat intercepte­d thief fleeing with bag filled with Dh2.7m

Senior Dubai Police officers honoured indian expat, Keshur Ghela, for foiling a thief’s attempt run off with a bag containing Dh2.7 million in Dubai.

Maj Gen Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Chief for Criminal Investigat­ion Affairs, praised Keshur for helping arrest the thief by tackling him and pinning him to the ground until police patrols arrived.

Maj Gen Tariq Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station, explained that two Asian men were in the Naif area carrying two bags containing Dh4.25 million in cash of different currencies. The suspect and his accomplice­s intercepte­d them and snatched one of the bags containing Dh2.7 million.

“As the two men shouted for help, Keshur saw the thief running with the stolen bag towards him and bravely tackled him. He pinned him to the ground until police patrols arrived,” he said.

Keshur expressed his pride and joy at being honoured by Dubai Police.
