Ricciardo confirms Red Bull return
Daniel Ricciardo, who lost his McLaren seat as his career fell into the doldrums this year, has joined Red Bull as third driver for 2023, the team said yesterday.
“Bringing a wealth of experience and character, Daniel will assist the team with testing and Sim work, as well as commercial activity,” said the Red Bull announcement.
The Australian made his Formula One debut for the short-lived HRT team, in 2011 before joining Red Bull feeder squad Toro Rosso the following year. “The smile says it all. I’m truly excited to be coming back home to Oracle Red Bull Racing,” Ricciardo said.
